“We love the photos. They’re brilliant! They made me cry! (Ian had a few tears too)” – Natalie + Ian

Planning your wedding is always a huge undertaking, especially when it’s a destination wedding like Natalie & Ian‘s. But planning your wedding when you are also a wedding photographer yourself must be on another level.

For their wedding, Natalie & Ian chose to escape with their friends and family to the beautiful location of Dubrovnik in Croatia. If you’re a Game Of Thrones fan, you can wander around this incredible city and spot multiple filming locations for the show. It’s a city unlike any other.

I arrived in Croatia a couple of days early and got to explore the city with the couple for their engagement shoot. I also got to hang out with Daniel their videographer and friend who created the stunning video you can see at the end of this post.

A VILLA ROSE WEDDING

The wedding itself was a boat ride away at Villa Rose, a 1930’s building settled among ancient pines and blue hues of the Adriatic. A symbol of true love, it was a gift from Dubrovnik’s merchant to his beloved wife.

The day began with the girls at Villa Vinka where everyone was in good spirits. I think the champagne may have been opened around breakfast time! I then popped over to where Ian was getting ready with his Dad before heading back to the girls’ villa and then to the boat to take us all to Villa Rose.

They had an outdoor ceremony in perfect weather before a relaxing afternoon surrounded by their favourite people in this picture-perfect location.

The speeches were beyond hilarious and the party was absolutely off the hook. These are the weddings I live for!

Thanks so much to Natalie & Ian for trusting me for the job and looking after me during my stay, It was a dream wedding to shoot.

If you’re planning a wedding at Villa Rose, Dubrovnik or anywhere in Croatia, I’d love to hear your plans so please get in touch.

This post is dedicated to Natalie’s Dad, also called Steve. The coolest FOB of all time. RIP.
