Sucrerie de la Montagne is SUCH a cool wedding venue to the west of Montreal!
Even though it’s close to Rigaud, just 50 minutes from downtown Montreal, you could be mistaken for thinking you were hundreds of miles away in the middle of the Canadian wilderness.
Long ago, it was just a ramshackle building nestled in the heart of a maple grove on Chemin St-Georges. Today, it’s a group of buildings that seem to have leapt off the page of a Canadian history book.
For the wedding meal, there are two private rooms, one with a capacity for up to 80 guests, the other able to accommodate up to 350 people. Both feature traditional stone hearths and a choice of several country-style or tailored menus.

I’m a Brit living in Montreal with my wife, Evelyne and our three boys, Elliott, Isaac and Jonas! Evelyne and I met in the Alps in 2003 when Evelyne thought she was a cool snowboarder and I thought I was a superstar DJ. We got married in 2007 in Cornwall, England and moved to Canada in 2014.
I photographed my first wedding in 2006 and have now shot almost 500 weddings, mostly in Canada & the UK, but I absolutely love travelling anywhere in the world. I enjoyed it when I started but love my job now more than ever.
