This week US rock band Alter Bridge played the relatively intimate Metropolis in Montreal. This 2300 capacity venue was markedly smaller than the arenas they’d just been headlining in Europe and I headed down to shoot the gig for Montreal Rocks.
It was a packed out show and it was great to see a few photographer friends joining me in the pit. The lighting was pretty decent and bassist Brian Marshall got bonus points for wearing a Rush t-shirt in front of the Canadian fans.
The band sounded heavier than I expected which was a pleasant surprise. I’m not really a fan, but admit they’re great at what they do. I stuck around for a few songs after shooting the first three but then headed home….
