Crossed Keys Estate Wedding

Amber + Dany

This wedding at the amazing Crossed Keys Estate in Andover, New Jersey was special for a number of reasons. The wedding venue was perfect. Rustic, gorgeous, with a relaxed vibe and a zillion locations for photos. The outdoor ceremony was beautiful, surrounded by Amber & Dany’s favourite people in this idyllic setting.

This was technically a destination wedding for me, but it’s only an hour flight from Montreal to Newark Airport. I’ve driven far longer for weddings here in Quebec!

But what made this different from all the other weddings that I shoot was that the groom, Dany, was an old friend of mine from back in my DJ days. He actually used to book me to play his clubs in New York City and we became good friends. There were guests at this wedding that had seen me play at those clubs, and now here we were in New Jersey, with me photographing Dany’s wedding to Amber. And what about Amber?! Could a bride possible have looked more stunning?!

I shot 99% of the day on site at the Crossed Keys Inn, only leaving to grab a few shots of the boys getting ready in town. We did a first look with the couple on the lawn before a few family group shots and then it was time for their outdoor ceremony.

The main reception was held in the marquee adjacent to the main house and their attention to detail made sure everything looked absolutely amazing. And, of course, Dany knew that having a great DJ was essential to making sure the party was rockin’ all night long.

Amber & Dany are a fantastic couple and it was a ton of fun hanging out with them on their wedding day and partying til the early hours. Just like the old days. And yes, there was an after party!
