Steve these are SO. GREAT. I’m in floods. We love them. Thank you so much. xx
There are some couples who, when the wedding is done and dusted, I really hope I get to hang out with again. Helen and Marcus fell into that category within an hour of meeting them. They are fun and easy going, and their wedding was amazing! As you’ll see below!
I actually met them the day before the wedding, as they were setting up the tipi with some of the coolest wedding decor I’ve seen. Every guest was gifted their own book, some of the couple’s favourites, and the attention to detail everywhere was impressive to say the least. The tipi looked stunning.
On the morning of the wedding I met the girls at The Vineyard Hotel in Stockcross where everyone was in great spirits. Meanwhile my good pal Matt Long was over with the boys. In the bar. Standard!
The wedding ceremony was at the amazing Douai Abbey in Woolhampton. A gorgeous church with modern architecture and plenty of light inside for us photographers. Happy days! I’m not gonna mention Helen getting Marcus’ name wrong during the vows. I couldn’t possibly add to her embarrassment by writing about it here!
Then it was a short walk through Upper Woolhampton to get to the reception which was held in the tipi at Woolhampton Cricket & Football Club. Unlike the previous day when it was chucking it down with rain, the weather stayed great until the end of the night. Helen’s Dad surpassed himself with a multitude of “Dad Jokes” that went down a storm, there was an impromptu singalong and a brilliant speech from Marcus’ Best Man, and twin brother, Rory.
Both Helen & Marcus are like me and love their music so the evening saw plenty of big tunes that kept the dancefloor rockin’ til the end of the night. It’s certainly the first time I’ve shot a wedding where the first dance was a Rancid song! So cool!
I feel so lucky that I get to shoot weddings like this, with couples like Helen & Marcus. It makes my job an absolute pleasure and I can’t thank them enough for having me along to do my thing. Big thanks also to Matt for shooting this one with me. He absolutely rocked it!
