This St Donat’s Castle wedding in South Wales was special for a whole bunch of reasons. I love it when the planets align! Annie & Jason first discovered my photography when they were researching their wedding venue, the stunning St Donat’s Castle in South Wales. I’d shot Libby & Derek’s amazing wedding there in 2013 and Annie found my photos online HERE.
That wedding was also featured on the Love My Dress Blog where Libby had pretty much smashed the record for how much a bride could write about her wedding day!
In the years since her wedding, Libby had gone on to become a wedding photographer herself. She also attended one of my wedding photography workshops, so when it came time to select a 2nd shooter for Annie & Jason’s wedding I knew exactly who to ask. I never told Annie until the morning of the wedding that the bride from that 2013 wedding was now shooting her wedding day!
Every wedding, of course, is different, and Annie & Jason certainly stamped their own personalities over theirs, and it was an absolutely beautiful day. Annie looked stunning in her dress and Jason and his boys oozed cool in their tuxes. The weather was perfect and we once again headed down to the beach for portraits just as the sun was setting.
St Donat’s Castle is a medieval castle in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, overlooking the Bristol Channel in the village of St Donat’s near Llantwit Major, and about 25 km west of Cardiff. It’s easily one of my favourite venues to photograph weddings at.
