Restaurant Beatrice Wedding Montreal

Ristorante Beatrice Wedding Montreal

“Wow wow wow we are speechless. We literally don’t even know where to begin. These photos are just BEYOND!!!!!!
We can’t thank you enough for the beautiful photos you capture on our special day.”

Rachel & Kris’s Restaurant Beatrice wedding in Montreal was full of classic elegance, a fantastic group of family and friends and most of all, two people who clearly belong together and know how to have a good time.

As temperatures here in Montreal edge towards -20 degrees C this week, it’s hard to imagine that just four months ago Rachel & Kris’s wedding day was so hot, it was difficult to remain outdoors for too long, especially in a suit! Temperatures tipped the 40 degrees C mark so most of their portraits were done indoors and we left the family photos until the sun began to dip and temperatures dropped to a more comfortable level.

Luckily doing portraits indoors at the Four Seasons Hotel is just fine by me. The decor is modern and chic and we made some great photos with the couple and their HUGE bridal party. Rachel & Kris also chose to do a first look on a balcony at the hotel, with Leonard Cohen looking on approvingly. He always was a fan of romance!

My day began with the girls getting ready while my good pal Ashley headed over to enjoy the guys hanging by the pool. One of the bridesmaids was Spenser whose wedding I photographed at Manoir Hovey back in 2018. As I mentioned, the bridal party was a big one, with eight bridesmaids, so the room at the hotel was alive with anticipation.

Once everyone was ready and the first look was over we went to meet Rachel’s dad for an emotional moment before heading to the hotel bar for photos. And maybe a couple of nerve-easing drinks!

We did manage to brave the heat for a few photos outside, and those are some of my favourite images of the day. Then it was a quick drive over to Restaurant Beatrice for the wedding ceremony and the reception.

Nestled in downtown Montreal’s Golden Square Mile district, Ristorante Beatrice is an Italian eatery that also makes for a beautifully intimate venue for a wedding. I photographed Tory & Dan’s wedding there a couple of years ago too, and that’s exactly how I first met Rachel & Kris!

Samantha Ozbalt from Eastwood Events again did an incredible job making sure the room looked stunning and the flowers from Westmount Florist really did seal the deal.

Windermere Music provided some laid-back vibes before DJ Coco jumped behind the decks. As an ex-DJ myself I do appreciate it when couples book someone who knows how to work a room and doesn’t just play the same old tunes we hear at every wedding!

Huge thanks to Rachel + Kris for trusting me to capture this amazing wedding for them. They just ordered their wedding album featuring many of the photos you’ll see here and I know it’s going to be stunning.

If you’re planning your own wedding, whether that’s near Montreal or somewhere else entirely, I’d love to hear from you. Please drop me an email via the Contact page.

I’m a Brit living in Quebec with my wife, Evelyne and our three boys! Evelyne and I met in the Alps in 2003 when Evelyne thought she was a cool snowboarder and I thought I was a superstar DJ. We got married in 2007 in Cornwall, England and moved to Canada in 2014.

I photographed my first wedding in 2006 and have now shot almost 500 weddings, mostly in Canada & the UK, but I absolutely love travelling anywhere in the world. I enjoyed it when I started but love my job now more than ever.
