Photographing this beautiful wedding at La Montagne Coupée in Quebec was a day I won’t forget. This was my first time shooting a wedding at the venue and it has to be one of the most stunning locations in all of Canada to get married.
I love taking photos in nature so Auberge de La Montagne Coupee is just an exceptional site with luscious gardens, lookouts and breathtaking panoramas. Stephanie & Benny had their ceremony outside in September just as the sun began to fall in the sky. And they even had their gorgeous dog involved in the ceremony! More dogs at weddings, please!
*As a side note, Evelyne and I had both our dogs at our own wedding too.

The ceremony itself, as you’ll see from the photos below, was so beautiful. The terrace at La Montagne Coupee is probably now my favourite place in all of Quebec to witness a wedding. Just stunning! And with the weather being so perfect, it made the whole event one to truly remember.
After the rings had been exchanged and the champagne had been popped, I had a few moments away from the guests with the newly married couple to capture some portraits. The sun dropped toward the horizon, I threw on my wide-angle lens and, as Stephanie & Benny relaxed in front of the incredible backdrop, we created some of my favourite wedding photos since I moved to Montreal. There was no posing involved or needed, it was all right there in front of my camera.
After the portraits, we still had enough great light to take some pictures with the bridal party, family members and, of course, the couple’s dog, before heading indoors for the reception.
It was then that the bride had a little surprise for her new husband. She sat him down in front of all their guests, invited his uncle over to play guitar, and sang Cyndi Lauper’s Time After Time to Benny, and she sang beautifully!
The day wrapped up with great speeches, fantastic food and another surprise when the belly dancers entered the reception hall to perform for the guests. So much fun!
